Cute and bright and fun. That's the vibe I got off of this one when she first joined the INCrowd. Check out her shop and you'll see...my instincts were right. Her work is whimsical and smart-alecky, somewhat obsessed with South Park...much like the real Lia. But don't take my word for it...
Where were you born & raised?
Louisville, KY
Where are you now & what led you there?
I'm going to IU-Bloomington because of the top-notch business school there, and because it's not too far away!
What types of creations do you sell in for your Etsy shop(s)?
Plastic jewelry and accessories, and magazine wallets.
What's your educational background, as it relates to your work?
I don't think I have any educational background in anything I do. But I'm majoring in Apparel Merchandising and minoring in Business so I'm going to GET some! haha.
How'd you get started creating?
I've been making various crafts for as long as I can remember. I dabbled in everything from knitting to soapmaking. I finally stumbled upon jewelry when I was 16 and got my ears pierced - during the process of changing over my clip-ons to hooks, I found myself altering the earrings to make them look cooler. Then I turned all of my necklaces into earrings! The rest is history ;)
What's your muse, or what turns that little creative light inside you on?
Pretty colorful things. Any time I see something colorful and pretty I feel like creating something. Luckily, my bead stash is quite colorful!
Do you belong to any Street Teams? If so, which ones and why?
I belong to the INCrowd Team and the DIY Scene Team. I think street teams are a wonderful way to promote as a group and individually!
What's your favorite thing about selling on Etsy?
I love the community and the wonderful advice from the forums. I feel like I've completed a course or two in business already just from all the knowledge I've picked up from other sellers here!
