INCrowd Interstate Interview 7/28/08 - Michelle Selzer Palmer (Frog Princess Couture)

This week's interview is with Michelle Seltzer Palmer of FrogPrincessCouture. Here's what she had to tell us:

Where were you born & raised?
Born and raised in the SOUTH...Hi, ya'll!! Now in the Blues city of Memphis!

Where are you now & what led you there?
Family lead us to Memphis...we enjoy the music festivals and the abundant museums and gardens. We tend to embrace where we are: so we listen to a lot of BB King and Elvis here! There are several universities in the area as well as the BIG OLE Mississippi River...I happen to love Mark Twain. 8-)

What types of creations do you sell in your Etsy shop(s)?
I sell the most fru- fru things you can imagine for little girls! I LOVE anything sweet and girly! I love to create unique furniture pieces as well as ARTSY hair bow holders...I have been known to make a tutu or a custom dress as well.

What's your educational background, as it relates to your work?
I have a Master's in Education/English, so it doesn't relate DIRECTLY, but I do think of myself as an artist. Both of my parents "create" too, and I guess I inherited the desire to just MAKE it myself!

How'd you get started creating?
I wanted to make something for my daughter and thought that instead of paying $400 for that cute little boutique table, maybe I would make it!

Do you belong to any Street Teams? If so, which ones and why? If not, why not?
No, I need to check it out! There are some wonderful people here in Memphis

What's your favorite thing about selling on Etsy?
The people!
